I%26#039;m using DynDNs.com free web hodting. On my router, I when to DDNS and enable, enter my user name, password and hostname from for my host(DynDns). On my router I also when to DMZ and enter my computer IP. I when back to my account with Dyndns and modify it. But I can%26#039;t get to open my web page when I type it in the web browser. Router dialog box ask for router name and password? why
I have an Airlink101 router. I setup a webserver. whenever I type my host name in the url,My router comes up?
mainly because you didn%26#039;t enable the %26quot;virtual host%26quot; or alike and/or you haven%26#039;t open port 80 (HTTP port).
try this:
鈥f you are on a LAN set a static IP for your computer, you can do this by edting Networking Properties
鈥nable virtual server and/or port forwarding in you router, choose both UDP and IP, enter port 80 as it%26#039;s port and enter your static IP as private IP.
鈥nter your DDNS settings in the WAN setup
鈥eboot your router
鈥heck the dyndns address you have...
different routers have different settings to enable you local web server to pass through the router, some router don%26#039;t have virtual server on their NAT setting or no need to setup its virtual server, for this type you must only add a public port (port 80) to run a webserver, some router requires more than opening a port, like what i am using, first i set my computer to a static IP, enable port forwarding, enable virtual server, open port 80, add s specific private IP, and set my dyndns setting or no-ip setting..
just play around your router%26#039;s settings and don%26#039;t forget to reboot it everytime you made changes..
here is my local webserver for proof:

if page cannot be displayed it means my computer is off..
