I have 1,500GB of space and 15,000GB of bandwidth. What could i do so i feel like my space and all other options i have go to waste? Here is the host package that i have http://www.lunarpages.co.uk/basic-hostin... all i use my host for is my website which is just songs zipped and htm and html files and my phpBB3 forum so its just MYSQL, phpMyAdmin and php and html files and some small .htaccess files.
How to get the most of my web hosting?
1) Get yourself some content that is searchable text (so the search engines can find you) that is related to the songs and other files or general theme of the site)
2) Apply for a Google AdSense account.
3) Put ads in effective yet non-obnoxious places in your forum and the other content you added in #1. Make a careful record of placement and ad formats, and track the results of your efforts with another great tool from Google, Google Analytics.
4) Don%26#039;t put all your eggs in one basket... sign up as an Amazon affiliate and make book, CD and DVD recommendations that go along with your site theme.

If you%26#039;re allowed to, consider reselling some of that space and bandwidth. :)
How about offering to host a few blogs and placing advertisements on them?

Other Replys:Set up a crawler. You need it to make http requests and pattern match for internal and external (to the page it is on) urls. Adding those urls to two lists and then iterating through is like a breadth first search. Limit internal links to 100 and don%26#039;t repeat urls. While at a url match email addresses or some other interesting data. Log everything in the db. Use a google search as the start page so the emails, for eg, relate to a keyword. Log distance into the bfs as an inverse relation to relevancy. Repeat for months and you%26#039;ll end up with masses of data.
Other Replys:If you actually use so much space, the host will shut you down. Use it for storing images instead

Other Replys:The Right Price -Last and certainly not the least, a good reasonable price is your final measure for a good web hosting company. Many web hosting sites offer a range of hosting packages ranging from entry level budget packages to the more enterprise-grade packages for corporations and power users. Each package defines the maximum bandwidth, CPU power and hard drive space as well as the online tools you can avail yourself of to manage your website. Most reputable web hosts do have comparable packages. About the few things differentiating them are the management tools used. And often, other service features like 24/7 technical support and user-friendliness can clinch your decision. It%26#039;s really your choice based on what you believe gives the best value for the price you are willing to pay
Other Replys:A number of hosting companies out there over sell their services. Meaning they provide a lot of features for a ridiculously low price relative to the amount of features and storage. The idea behind that is they know full well you are not going to max things out, more than likely anyway. So even though on paper they may be giving you xyz of storage and bandwidth, realistically they are pricing the package as if you have less. This allows them to post a super lucrative offer and likely not take a loss on it. It doesn%26#039;t mean they are a bad or a good host.
The point I am trying to make is simply this, you are likely not paying what the true %26quot;MSRP%26quot; value of that package is. So don%26#039;t feel as though you need to use it all up. If it really bothers you, you can always move to a host who offers less storage and bandwidth :)
